As a small business, we know firsthand how difficult COVID-19 has made it to stay afloat, but it has made times especially tough for restaurants. Restaurants do more than just feed us. They are the backbone of our community and we wanted to help them out in any way we could during this fragile time. Starting almost one year ago, we’ve been offering free “Open for Takeout” banners and tamper-evident seals to all of our favorite spots.

We started out with a simple black-and-white banner, and gave them to everyone we could think of in the Buena Park/Cerritos area. It wasn’t meant to be a permanent solution, but good enough to get us through the next few weeks. Then we, along with the rest of the country, soon learned that the pandemic wasn’t going away any time soon.

So we upgraded our banners.

With the chances of reopening getting slimmer and slimmer, we knew we had to expand our definition of “local”. We expanded our horizons to the greater OC and LA area and went everywhere from Fairfax to Whittier. We met restaurant owners from all walks of life, and it was an awesome excuse to eat somewhere new every day. You can check out all of our banner drop-offs on our Instagram and YouTube channel.
